This Privacy Policy describes how The First Light, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with The First Light, an SMS-based spiritual guidance service (“Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
We collect the following information when you use the Service:
— Phone number: collected when you first text the Service. This is your primary identifier. — Message content: the text messages you send to the Service and the responses generated. — Usage data: message counts, plan tier, opt-in status, and timestamps. — Payment information: processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or payment details on our servers. — Timezone: inferred or provided, used to deliver messages at the appropriate local time.
We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily provide it in a message.
We use the information we collect to deliver the Service — generating and sending responses to your messages; send scheduled daily broadcasts to opted-in users; process purchases and billing through Stripe; track credit balances and enforce usage limits; improve the quality of the Service over time; and comply with legal obligations.
Your phone number, message history, and account data are stored in a secure database provided by Supabase, Inc. Message history is retained to provide conversational context — the Service references prior exchanges to deliver more relevant responses. You may request deletion of your message history at any time by texting STOP or contacting us directly.
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only with trusted third-party service providers — including SMS delivery, AI processing, database infrastructure, and payment processing — solely as necessary to operate the Service.
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
By texting the Service, you consent to receive SMS messages from The First Light, including automated messages and marketing messages. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on your plan and opt-in preferences.
To opt out of all messages at any time, reply STOP. To get help, reply HELP. We comply with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and CTIA messaging guidelines.
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your data by texting STOP or contacting us directly; and opt out of marketing messages at any time by replying STOP.
